Reflecting on 2022
I think it’s vital to enter a new year by reflecting on everything that went right and wrong in the current year. Every year in the final few days I take some time to meditate and journal the highs and the lows. I then set my goals for the next year. These goals range from personal wants within my marriage and family to career ambitions with my instagram and blog to my studio feature film to my modelling. There is no right or wrong way to do it but I strongly believe getting into alignment is necessary. Heres why…
I believe in a higher power. I believe that higher power is Jesus. I don’t believe in being a stereotypical “bible basher” or whatever comes to mind when you might think of Jesus in 2022. I pray and get my spirit in alignment with God on a daily basis. I also meditate with the Calm app whenever I can and i spend quality time with myself. Doing my nails, a facial, a dog walk, sitting in the sun. For 2023 I know I can do more of this and thats something I am reflecting on from this past year and increasing in 2023.
Relationships are the best and worst thing we have. I can think of a time when I used to value them in a different way, I didn’t want anyone too close. That was probably 2016 CSG Lux, 2022 CSG Lux is a woman who loves closeness but also sees that issues related to being close to someone. I’ve got some very great friendships that I am happily taking into 2023 but I have also had to let some friendships go. The “friends” who would always take and never give. The ones who never make the plans, don’t bother to give you a gift on your birthday when you shower them in gifts for their wedding, birthday, whatever the hell else they have going on in their lives! The selfish people had to go. The self centred and self serving people are left in 2022. Now, don’t get me wrong – I believe people can change but I don’t believe it’s your job to change anyone. If someone is toxic (family, step-family, in-laws or friends) leave them behind. Not everyone can go where you’re going.
My career is one of the most important things in my life. I am a creative and I love to keep busy. With my feature film War Lands moving from an indie to a studio film, it’s meant i have to share the project. I have to learn to work better than I’ve ever worked in a team before. I need to count my blessings for how 2022 helped my project and go into 2023 with a new found patience and the ability to let go of the most important milestone in my career thus far! That is tough, but doable.
In my modelling I am just thankful to be with my new agency Oxygen Models, literally giving me oxygen and a new lease on the fashion industry! I have never been more in sync with my agent before. With my instagram and blog – these are things I am so thankful for. For you guys who follow along with what I do and how honest I can be with you all. I hope you know I love and appreciate you guys so much.
I am going into 2023 knowing it is my best year yet. Manifesting and praying for all the things I want and believe in my heart that I need. For myself but also for those around me. The broken, the needy, the alone and the children are top of my list. I know that 2023 will be a year I get to help more people.
