The ultra-lux/The Parisian based fashion house Balmain was founded in 1945 by Pierre Balmain. The
brand is known for its glamorous designs, which are usually made with luxurious fabrics and embellishments.
Olivier Rousteing became the creative director of Balmain in 2011, and he has continued the brand’s
tradition of creating beautiful clothing for women. Rousteing is known for his celebration of female celebrities and influencers.
One of the things that makes Balmain so special to me is the focus on femininity. The designs often hug your figure
closely and I cannot get enough of the latest release! A CSG Lux staple.
The collection features lots of ruffles, tulle, and sequins which are all things that I love, I should have been a gay man but hey, now I get to be a stylish woman with fabulous gay friends
wearing a fabulous gay man’s designs #LGBTQ! It also includes some more masculine pieces like tailored trousers and jackets.
I think what Rousteing is trying to say with this collection is that you can be feminine and strong at the same time. He is solidifying Balmain’s place as the King of Femininity.
