My FAV Makeup

Okay, as you know CSG Lux loves a good glam so of course it only seems right to finally share those much loved, tried and tested, products with you all.

I use a few specific brands that I have been loyal to for years. I am also branching out and trying new products every single week. Beauty is one of my favourtie activities and I am so excited to be sharing with you Lux Lovers everything near and dear to my heart.

The Foundation

This is the foundation for me. I love a full coverage and this formula lets you build it up until you’re happy. I usually do two layers of foundation and that seems to be enough coverage for me. I use a damp beauty blender (making sure to squeeze the blender inside a tissue before using) dabbing the foundation all over my face – except for under my eyes! When it comes to under my eyes, I do the lightest amount of concealer possible. This has always been an annoying part of my glam because every beauty Blogger that I watch on YouTube (or every tutorial that I see) they’re always doing such a caked amount of concealer under their eyes. I have always just thought OK I need to do that as well. I go and do it exactly how they say, I make sure to blend it out and then I apply my powder. But it always always always ends up caking. So, the only way I have found to have beautiful, clear, line free skin (under your eyes) is to use a very tiny amount of concealer and blot it out with the tip of a beauty blender – make sure it is damp! Once the concealer is in place put your power on straight away. I am currently using HD Makeup Forever in a very light/white/ivory (shade 12 Nude Ivory) colour because I like to really brighten that under eye area. It really works for me!

Airbrush Finish

Laura Mercier is somewhat of a Queen of setting powder. I user the translucent loose setting powder for under my eyes and the honey ultra blur for my face and neck. I really don’t believe you need a huge amount of skill to master the airbrush look. All you need to do is apply some powder to your brush, tap of the excess and apply. Make sure you use the right type of brushes for the right area, you would be suprised at what I use for my under eyes. I honestly think most of my brushes are eyeshadow brushes, but they work. The Morphe M536 Under Eye Bullet Brush was simply too large to get right up under your eyeliner, it is huge. I love a Morphe V204 Soft Pointed Eyeshadow Brush or Sig,a E35 Tapered Blending Brush for setting the under eyes. I use the So Eco Powder Brush for setting my face and neck.

Lip Liner

Mac Lipliners are a staple in any woman’s makeup bag, but for me I have about 5 in one shade alone – stripdown. It is by far the most amazing shade. I was a frequent wearer of Hoover until they discontinued it – sigh. Stripdown is one of those colours where you can line a lighter nude lipstick or even a darker shade. It also goes really well with different glosses.

BrowS

As a half brow Queen, AKA a lady with half eyebrows that literally finish on the arch and have no tales! I have been drawing my brows on since I was around 14. I used an eyeliner back in those days and absolutely loved the process. These days we have so much available to us. I use two products. First, I brush on my NYX Tinted Brow Mascara then I use the back brush of my Benefit Precisely Brow Pencil to brush it up and through. Once this is done, I use the pencil end of the Benefit tip to draw out my tails.

My Colour – 04 Medium

Contour

I love a contoured cheek and I was using the same bronzer for 6 years! A Kiko Cosmetics one that has now been discontinued – sigh. I’ve now been venturing out and trying new brands and have really enjoyed the Benefit Hoola Exclusive Contourist Matte Powder Bronzer Palette.

My Vibe –  I mix three colours together, Lite, Hoola and Caramel

Beauty and skincare are such big parts of my life and truly bring excitement for me. I think any woman who spends her time on looking good really brings a sense of identity and feeling of overall happiness. Taking pride in one’s appearance is a good thing. I love to Glam and will be bringing you the tried and tested (that actually work) products throughout 2023!

XOXO
