Nid des Pecles - Chalet Rytola Chamonix

We have not been skiing since before Covid lockdown! I cannot believe it’s been that long so we decided to head to the snow in our much loved Chamonix. This time my hubby and I invited a couple who we are very good friends with and stayed at Nid des Pecles. We were very lucky to be invited to stay in Chalet Rytola, the mother bird of Nid des Pecles nesting since 2019! It was the most glamorous chalet I have ever had the pleasure of staying in, I truly believe you will not be disappointed. So check out Nid des Pecles for your next ski holiday. It is CSG Lux approved.

The team at Nid des Pecles are truly phenomenal. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Sean and Mette (Sean is a Kiwi!) who developed the centuries old farm into 3 stunning chalets. The team they have assembled includes two Pierre’s and one Nathan. Pierre Beausire heads up the management and marketing, he helped us initially to get everything together for our stay. He also organised some amazing spa activities (at a local spa in town), flowers, candles, recommendations for shops and restaurants, nothing was too much and he made the stay extremely special.

Spa by Clarins – Hôtel Mont-Blanc invited us to try out their facilities during our stay, as recommended by Pierre B. It was a relaxing and rejuvenating experience. We started with the sauna then went into the steam room. After this we went to experience the outdoor heated pool and hot tub, with views of the Mont Blanc. We then went to the lounge to unwind before our 30min massage treatments. Clarins offer high performance formulas concentrated in plant extracts. In the hands of expert beauticians, the skin discovers the happiness of a personalized experience: precise and targeted gestures follow one another, perfectly adapted to your needs and desires, for immediately visible and lasting beauty and well-being.

Pierre Chatelain came in every morning, at a time of our choosing and made us the most delicious breakfast. He organised everything, cooked and cleaned up so we could focus on getting up the mountain. Without him we would not have felt so stress-free and at ease at the start of each day. We are so thankful he was with us. Lastly, Nathan Kempf, the Chalet Operations Manager, organised keys, a tour and anything else we needed on arrival and exit. Even bath salts so we could really unwind after our trip into Chamonix. No task was too big or small for these guys and it made all the difference having them around.

Rytola is local dialect for Roitelet (Goldcrest) inspiring the other two chalet bird names (Kea & Choucas), and the hamlet being named Nid (Nest) des Pecles after the area. Our chalet, Rytola has four spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms on each, plus a sleep/playroom with toilet and the option to add 3 additional beds. There is a huge amount of space! Rytola’s impressive location and massive double windows mean you get a stunning view of Mont Blanc. We decided to sip wines after a day of skiing, making the most of the outdoor hot tub. We really did a whole lot of nothing, but in a good way

We never had any issues. The place was always warm, dry, clean and quiet. The bins were always emptied and the linen + towels were freshly laundered on arrival. My favourite part of the Chalet was the fireplace. It’s a grand centrepiece in the living space. We relaxed in front of it every evening, drinking red wine, taking photos in matching outfits and playing board games. We also used their in-chalet gym and sauna throughout our stay. Also, it wouldn’t be CSG Lux without our full skincare routine at the end of the day! This time I had a 10-step for everyone. Including Clarins, Obagi, SkinCeuticals and Medik8! It was complete bliss and I know we will be back.
